61वां संविधान संशोधन अधिनियम, 1989 – इस अधिनियम के द्वारा संविधान के अनुच्छेद 326 का संशोधन करके मताधिकार की आयु 21 से घटकर 18 वर्ष कर दी गई है, ताकि देश के उस युवा-वर्ग को जिसे अभी तक कोई प्रतिनिधित्व नहीं मिल पाता था, अपनी भावनाएं व्यक्त करने का अवसर मिल सके और वही राजनीतिक प्रक्रिया का अंग बन सके।
The Constitution (Sixty-first Amendment) Act, 1989 – The Act provides for reducing voting age from 21 to 18 years by amending Article 326 of the Constitution to provide to the unrepresented youth of the country an opportunity to give vent to their feelings and help them become a part of the political process.
